The 60" x 0.140" x 60,000 Lb. Alcos Slitting Line, manufactured in 1989, is designed for efficiency in metal processing applications. It handles coils up to 60 inches wide and thicknesses ranging from 0.020" to 0.140". This line can accommodate a coil weight capacity of 60,000 pounds, making it suitable for heavy-duty applications, with the operation direction from left to right. Included in the setup are various components to ensure smooth operation: a 4-arm turnstile, an entry coil car with hydraulic self-dumping and oscillation, and a 60-inch wide uncoiler. The line features an Alcos slitter head with three interchanging heads operated by a 100 HP DC motor for robust slitting performance. It also comprises a tension stand and two scrap winders. Additional equipment includes a 72-inch wide recoiler and an exit shear with a 66-inch blade for precise cuts. The recoiler is driven by a 100 HP motor featuring a two-speed gearbox with ratio capabilities of 66:1 and 22:1, ensuring efficient material handling and throughput. The inclusion of an exit coil car and a 2-arm turnstile complete the line, offering reliable coiling and decoiling processes.
