60” x .125" x 40,000 Lbs. UMI Slitting Line

The 60" UMI Slitting Line, manufactured in 1979, is a robust piece of industrial equipment designed for precise slitting operations. This used slitting line can accommodate material with a maximum width of 60 inches and supports coil weights up to 40,000 pounds (20 tons). It is capable of processing material with thicknesses ranging from .010" to .125", catering to a wide range of applications. The equipment operates with a right-to-left line direction and is equipped with slitter arbors measuring 7 inches in diameter. The slitting line features two slitter heads, each driven by a 75 HP DC motor, ensuring reliable performance. The recoiler has a drum width of 68 inches and a diameter of 20 inches, also powered by a 75 HP DC drive, with a motor speed range of 650 to 1,950 RPM. This setup enhances the line's capability to manage varying speeds and loads efficiently. Additional components of the system include an above-floor coil car, hydraulic uncoiler with a 40,000 lb capacity, a pinch roll, an X-ray gauge/shear assembly, and a two-head slitter with a three-speed gearbox. It is complemented by a scrap winder, loop pit, tension stand, and hydraulic features such as push-off and separators, making this line suitable for extensive, precision-driven slitting tasks.
