53” Continental 4-Stand 4-Hi Tandem Mill (Used)

The 53" Continental 4-Stand 4-Hi Tandem Mill is designed for processing hot rolled and pickled mild steel and silicon strip. It can accommodate coil widths ranging from 30" to 53" and handle a maximum coil weight of 50,000 lbs, with a coil inside diameter of 24". The mill can achieve finishing speeds of up to 3,000 feet per minute, ensuring high efficiency in production. This used mill boasts a significant production capacity of 75,000 to 80,000 tons per month at a rate of 80 tons per hour. Its post area measures 27" x 32", and it is capable of reducing material thickness from a minimum entry of 0.050" to an exit thickness range of 0.020" to 0.080". The coil outer diameter can vary between 50" and 72", with a reduction range of 5% to 75% depending on the material grade and width. The line includes an entry coil conveyor, 4-stand tandem cold mill, various work and backup rolls, mechanical screwdowns, and key components like VAI AGC & controls for precision. The equipment is driven by G.E. motors across its stands—the first stand features a 3,500 HP DC motor, while subsequent stands and recoiler have 2,500 and 600 HP DC motors respectively, all operating at 750 V DC and 375 V DC for efficient power usage.
