Description

Originally designed to roll rebar from scrap rail the mill was modernized and extended in the 1990s to produce a range of Merchant Bar products using 110 x 110mm to 140 x 140mm billet. The line briefly comprises: Fully modernised Bendotti 2 zone dual fuel walking beam furnace rated at 38tph Leading to a train of 7 Roughing stands and 3 intermediate stands Before splitting to 2 separate finishing lines each with up to 12 stands, Together with cooling beds, shears and bundling/strapping/weighing stations. Product range includes rounds 12 – 22mm dia, Flats up to 100mm wide and Squares 10 – 16mm The Mill was fully operational until February 2013 and has received the benefit of considerable capital investment over recent years and is in excellent condition. . Includes a comprehensive range of rolls, chocks, critical spares, drawings, technical documentation, roll lathes and grinders. SUMMARY: Recently Modernized Bendotti 38tph Billet Preheat Furnace 30 Stand Steel Merchant Bar Mill with 2 Finishing Lines Each with Shear, Cooling Beds and Packing Facility Product Range: Round Bar 8 - 32mm; Square Bar 10-25mm; Flats 20 x 3mm to 100 x 12mm; in length up to 12m Extensive Range of Spares and Consumables including: Mill Stands, Chocks & Rolls, Mill Guides, Motors, Bearings and other critical spares. Roll Lathes & Grinders by Waldrich-Siegen, Churchill, Gallicop, Swift and Intac - Zami Full infrastructure backup including laboratory , machine shop , maintenance for production facility. Last Used February 2013 Major Refurbishment to plant and equipment 1985: Mill stand improvements. Mid 1990's: New stands and changed product from rebar to merchant bar. Late 1990's: New run-out tables and product handling. 2002 - 2004: Various upgrades to mill and furnace. 2005: Major upgrades to mill drives, DC system and electrical installations. 2006: New billet furnace, mill drives and effluent treatment. 2007 - 2010: Various updates. 2011: Major improvements to furnace, mill drives and large flat product upgrade. The main production machinery comprises the following: Gas fired billet furnace by Bendotti (2006 - 2011); 200mm rolling mill comprising twenty-three 2-high horizontal roll bar mill stands in a tandem train by Simac, Nuovo Carpentaria and NCO (installed and improved in 1992, 1993, 1996, 2005, 2006, 2010 and 2011) with individual DC drives and gearboxes of various sizes from 108kW up to 425kW power rating, in sizes from 400mm roughers, 320mm intermediates and 280mm finishing roll size, 5,831kW installed motor rating; Raw material billet and merchant product sizes rolling 125mm x 125mm billet producing 8mm - 32mmØ round bar 12mm - 25mm square bar 20mm x 3mm up to 100mm x 12mm flat bar 40mm x 40mm up to 120mm x 120mm equal angle mainly in 6m lengths but some variations up to 7.2m long; Single mill roughing line then split into 2 intermediate and finishing stand lines (generally 1 - 25 years old); Both finishing lines with run out cooling tables, cut off and bundling machines ready for final dispatch (generally 5 - 25 years old); Extensive electrical supply and control systems for mill drives ( generally 1 - 25 years old); Overhead cranes for product and machinery movement (20 - 40 years old); Internal rail track for product movement (over 40 years old); Mill roll maintenance machinery (generally 20 - 40 years old); General maintenance machinery (generally 20 - 40 years old); Factory services (generally 5 - 30 years old); Other productive categories include mill rolls, mobile machinery, office machines and furniture; There is one non-productive category, machinery out of use.
